It works!
5 out of 5 stars
It works!
I recently adopted an 8 week old puppy. On the first night I had her I noticed she had worms, and lots of them. The family I got her from told me they used Nemex 2 on her once before I brought her home. I went ahead and bought Nemex 2 thinking maybe she just needed another dose for it to start working. Needless to say it didn't work. In desperation since her vet appointment was still two weeks away I bought this treatment. The first day she ate all her food with it mixed in normally, the flavor didn't seem to bother her thankfully. That evening she pooped out a bunch of worms, including a few super long ones. So gross! I was expecting to see that awful sight for at least a few more days, but by day two I started seeing dead worms instead of living ones. By day 3 I wasn't seeing any worms and her poops were becoming more solid. Today was the 4th day since I started the treatment and her poops look great - no worms or diarrhea. Her tummy swelling has gone down a lot as well. I feel so relieved! It was very scary to see so many worms coming out of my baby and to see her having constant loose stools. So happy she's feeling better!

When I got two 10 week old puppies, our vet did not want me buying an otc dewormer, but instead wanted to give her Rx dewormer. I had already bought an "all natural " dewormer here, was going to return but decided to try it for the week first. After using that I saw no worms in their stools so assumed they had none. Upon another vet visit I brought in a fecal sample from my boxer who had constant diarrhea and vet said she had hook and round worms. She then gave her expensive dewormer. After 6 weeks still no worms in her stools but still diarrhea. In respiration, I purchased this for all 5 dogs "just in case". Within a week of giving the 3 day treatment, my boxer pooped out what looked like a huge ball of white twine which turned out to be a whole slew of DEAD worms! She passed a huge amount of dead worms over the next 2 days! By the 3rd day after noticing the dead worms her stools were firmer, and no more worms! Compared with I spent at the Vet's for a dewormer that has the SAME ingredients as this, this product WORKS and costs way less! Hoping we don't need it again, but if we do, I know I will buy this again!!

This product must be used appropriately and does not work against all parasites. Consult with your vet- they went to vet school to be bored senseless memorizing parasite species life cycles! And get your pet's poop tested first AND after treatment!

For most roundworms and hookworms you administer a dose once daily for 3 consecutive days and REPEAT in 2 weeks. We dose this in dogs rounding up to the NEAREST 10 LBS. If your dog is 10.5 lbs we are treating with 20lb dose.

For whipworms you must do a course and repeat MONTHLY for THREE months to knock them out.

For giardia we typically use this in combination with a higher dose of metronidazole for 14 days in a row. SOMETIMES fenbendazole alone can be used.

This product is NOT my go to for tapeworms (plus you have to treat the underlying flea issue) and is NOT effective against coccidia.

As a vet I see lots of animals getting reinfested, if this is occurring and you're doing all you can to keep your yard poop free, ask your vet about monthly maintenance or 'preventative' products.

Do not treat without a diagnosis and do not overuse dewormers! Resistance among parasites is becoming rampant in all species!

I have two 12-week-old puppies. During their 12-week vet exams, one fecal tested positive for hookworms. The other's fecal did not. While they both had dewormer given to them as a part of their regular 12-week exam -- I wasn't convinced.

So I ordered this for both dogs. Day-2, for the dog with a "clean" fecal, and she passed tapeworms in her stool (appeared to be an adult tapeworm). This stuff works! Dare I say better than whatever they're receiving at the vet.

Today I gave them their Day-3 dose. My 4.22 lb girl had no side effects. My smaller 2.84 lb girl threw up her food a bit -- but no other adverse side effects.

I mix this in their Hills A/D wet food and they sop it up. So glad I found this stuff because, for a dog that the vet claimed had a clean fecal, the little one passed a tapeworm (so they were both clearly infected).

I purchased them again, will wait a week and then give them a Phase II to ensure they're worm free! Moving forward I'll follow-up every 3-6 months. They will be inside pets, so I'm not too worried about future issues. The breeder clearly wasn't using a strong enough dewormer on these babies.

Got this product for my small dog. Used with no side effects and complications. Was worried that it might cause diarrhea because she tends to have a sensitive GI tract. Do not know if she had worms, but used and plan to use every six months because I know that it is recommended to use a deworming product at least every six months in dogs. We moved to an area without mosquitos in the summer, so no longer needed heartworm medicine, so got this as a nice cheap over the counter alternative. Did some research online about good over the counter products and this one was rated well. Hopefully it does the job. Since we did not know if she even had parasites it was just a preventative measure on our part, but probably wise.

Bought this for use with our new puppy and it did all it was supposed to do. We promptly saw the results of this de-wormer in each of the puppys' bowel movements for the first 2 days after beginning a treatment (particularly in the morning). The bowel movements on the third day of each treatment were always clear of worms. The third sequential treatment was the last one we will do for a while with our puppy since no more worms showed up at all, signifying that he is presently clear of worms.

We were particularly impressed that our puppy showed no loss of appetite or energy when undergoing his de-worming treatments with this product. (This was DEFINITELY NOT the case with the de-wormer the breeder used on him the day she sent him home with us!!) This proved to us that the Safe-Guard product is not unduly toxic or otherwise burdensome to the little guy's system. For further assurance, we showed our vet what we were using and she nodded with a smile and said "Yeah, that's a good one".

Highly recommended, based upon our recent experience with our healthy male, German Shepherd puppy, when administered to him 3 times over the course of his 8th to 16th week life stage. Follow the instructions carefully and you should be well pleased with this effective product, as we were.
