Perfect Crate for Miniature Dogs – Reliable and Durable! We have 15 dogs, and we’ve purchased the MidWest Homes for Pets Newly Enhanced Double Door iCrate multiple times to accommodate our Miniature Pinschers and Miniature Dachshunds. This size works perfectly for them – it’s spacious enough for them to feel comfortable, yet compact enough to fit in our home. The crate is incredibly durable and well-built. We appreciate the leak-proof pan, which makes cleaning easy, and the floor-protecting feet that help prevent any damage to our floors. The divider panel is also a great feature, allowing us to adjust the space as needed for younger dogs or to separate them during training. Overall, the quality is top-notch, and the crate is incredibly reliable. With so many dogs, we need crates that are both functional and sturdy, and this one has not disappointed us. We’ll continue to purchase these as needed and highly recommend them to other pet owners.

    Great sturdy dog crate. I love the convenience of the double doors so you can place it at different angles and still be able to access the entry. The price is better than similar crates in big box stores. It's easy to assemble and folds down easily to be stored under a bed or in a closet. It's not super heavy so it's easy to move around as needed. My dog is smaller, about 15lbs, and he has plenty of room.

    I've had several other brands and generic crates but MidWest is the best by far. They are sturdy, everything lines up well. They look nice and have great locks. There is plenty of space for a growing pup and come with the divider so you can adjust as they grow. They are easy to vlean and comfortable. Being collapsible is great for travel or storage.
    As a dog trainer, these are my favorite. Every dog should be crate trained. It's so important for your puppies safety to be crated when you aren't home or you can't watch them, it only takes a second for them to chew an electrical cord or ingest something dangerous or toxic. Crates should never be used for punishment but thought of as their den. Dogs naturally don't want to make a mess where they sleep so using the Divider is important to keep the size just so they can lay down comfortably but not have too much room where they can potty on one side and sleep on the other. It's also important to remember that puppies can only hold their bladder for 1 hour to each month old they are. So a 2 month old pup can go 2 hours. Large breed dogs may go longer and small breeds shorter. So you may need to arrange for someone to take your pup outside if you work long hours. Or doggie day care.

    This is well built and huge! We have English Mastiff's and want them to be comfortable while we are gone. He can romp around and chase his tail in this! We use toddler/crib mattresses for our dogs and it fits in this perfectly! Yes, please make note of the size because a crib mattress easily fits! So look at your space and ask yourself if you could set up a crib there before buying. This is very tall as well.
    It went together well but not without help. Two people are required unless your an octopus. The box is heavy and required two people to unload from the truck it was delivered in. I was anxious to build it so it took myself and two middle school boys to get it up our 5 deck steps. Did I mention it's huge!😂 With help building it was pretty straightforward and only took 15 minutes. All that said you will need a very large space to build this. The side panels have to hook in while it's laying flat and then they pop in place to stand up. So whatever room you plan on setting it up in has to have space to build it in. Think moving the couches out of the way for this one! Because it's not a collapse and fold. We think it's great and our giant love's it. We have two giant goobers and they both like to lay in their throughout the day. However, I don't think I'd let them be in there together while we're gone. It's big but I think they'd get tangled up and be uncomfortable. If you have a Giant and a smaller breed you'd like to bunk together. That would totally be doable in this. It's a five star for us and could be for you assuming you understand what you're buying!

    Finally a crate that's big enough for my 130lb dog (black one in the pics) to fit comfortably and have lots of room to stand up, turn around, and sleep on his side! He has his problems so it's important for him to have room and be comfortable.
    This crate does not come pre-assembled like the smaller wire crates do, it comes in 6 panels that need to be assembled in a particular order. You need to have room to lay the bottom and side panel down beside each other for installation. I didn't have that kind of floor space so I assembled it on the bed, but had to keep tilting the crate in order to get the corner poles in. By myself it took probably almost an hour, but with enough space and 2 people it should only take 20 minutes or so.
    I'm very happy with the quality/sturdiness of it. It has 2 doors, which is very useful, and it has 3 latches on each door.

    I did a lot of research on finding a crate for my new puppy and most of them seemed to have the same issue - sharp edges that could easily scratch or injure an animal (or human). This crate was no different. On many stretches of wire there was one end that wasn't finished smoothly.
    Seeing as I couldn't find any crates that didn't have that same problem (I'm thinking it's just part of the manufacture process), I decided I would buy this one for other reasons. 1. Size - I couldn't find any other crates as small as this one (18"). 2. Two doors would be handy (and it certainly has been!). 3. Lots of good reviews (even though there were some with the same issue I encountered).
    When I received it, I got a metal file and filed down all the sharp edges (there were many!) but atleast now I know it is safe for my pet.
    It's not that easy to pack down but that won't matter as he sleeps in it every night as well as during the day.
    Highly recommend but suggest you take a trip to the hardware first and get yourself a good metal file.
