- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2022I added turf with puppy absorbent pee pad underneath. I have not got him to pee on it yet but I am working on it. I just got it a couple days ago. I would have just used the puppy pads with this but my puppy likes to chew everything. He chews on the puppy pads and tears them to pieces, will even claw at it from the center so that's out of the question. So I'm going with the turf because it is more secure and he actually leaves it alone. I will add more to my review once I get him to start using it. My puppy is only 9 weeks old so hopefully we will get there soon. So far, happy with this purchase. 😊
**UPDATE**
Took 2 days (wrote review 2 days ago but took time to be approved) but he is now peeing on the turf. I just kept putting him on the turf after he ate, played and slept and he figured out that he needed to pee on it and I give him a treat every time he pees and he knows he did good. Sometimes a dog won't or refuses to pee on it unless they smell urine on it so I know it sounds weird but have a male in the house pee a tiny bit on turf for scent (only need to once and your dog will understand). Product is great! For anyone having issues with your dog chewing up the puppy pee pads, measure out a piece of turf (inner edge to inner edge) and put a pee pad underneath. Cut out 2 different pieces of the turf so that when one is dirty, you can put the clean/dry one on while you wash (I hose mine off with soap and water) and air dry the other one. I got a little roll of turf at home Depot but they sell them on Amazon as well, just cut them to size and round the corners of turf to fit perfect inside the tray. I hope my review helps. 😁

- Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2011I have had my 5lb chihuahua since he was a puppy. I trained him to use pads from day one. It took awhile to get him used to them. Once he did, it became an annoyance whenever he urinated partially onto the pad and our tiled floors. Our grouts are stained. We use Lysol wipes several times a day. My hands are very dry from washing--grrrr! I am very glad I came upon the tray. I placed one of his used pads on the small-sized tra. Upon approaching it, he realize its use. Once again though, he urinated partially onto the pad and the floor. He did the number two on the floor. But, the third time was a charm. I am ecstatic! Wish I had known about this product sooner! I'm looking forward to not cleaning up the floor at three in the morning! Anyhow, am placing another order for our second bathroom. It's so reasonably priced, I may order a third for trips.
For anyone interested, I use disposable bed pads that are approximately 17 x 22. A bit of it hangs out, but that can be tucked under the tray. It's sturdy and snaps the pad in well. I guess I am fortunate my baby has no interest in playing with the pad, so no problem with it being dragged or chewed on like other reviewers'. Overall, this item does what it's supposed to. I highly recommend it!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 5, 2018OK I tried this because I was looking for something to hold the disposable pee pads in place in a smaller crate I have for my baby that is for overnight use only. They work well BUY the handles are made cheaply. You have to make sure you don't put more than a couple pee pads in this and also snap the handels securely. The first night I used this my dog pulled the pee pad out as the handels came unlatched.. This is entirely made of plastic. It is a good concept and I am still trying it out. It is the only product that I have found that will fit into a smaller crate.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2017I honestly like it but then I came home one day and the pad was out of this thing. My puppy was able to pull it out. Wish I have a photo but my husband threw it right away. It was pretty small for an ordinary pee pads but looks good. But yeah the puppy could really pull it out, but he uses it for taking a poop and peeing. At least it does it's purpose. Just that when he gets bored with his toys he would scratch on this one and could easily pull it out. Mind you he's a 3 months old Corgi.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2012This tray is really quite wonderful. It has removed the need for me to tape down puppy pads, and it seems to help my puppy with understanding her "boundaries" by giving her a little edge to try to not step over when pottying. (Notice I said "try"... it's not fool proof.)
I ordered the small, because the price appealed to me and the size dimensions seemed appropriate. I have a 4.5 month old Miniature Pinscher, about 5.5 pounds, and it is too small for her. She tends to wander while going #2, and this isn't quite big enough for her wandering needs. If you have a puppy about this size or bigger, or one that likes to wander, go ahead and fork over the extra couple of dollars for the "Regular" sized tray.
Other pros: Super easy to clean, and the snaps work even if the pad hangs over the edge a little bit... just have put your weight into it.
The only con: It's not very heavy, and if my puppy hops/runs off of it it will slide around.
Overall, a good purchase. Thanks!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2013I have not used the mesh top for the pen as yet, but I'm sure I will like it. I truely pleased with the pen and my Yorkie feels it is her private home. I have told my friends about it and showed pictures of it to my Vet and friends. I did not like the tray for the training pads. It was very difficult to clamp the sides down and did not hold them secure. I tried two different pads to see if this was perhaps due to them, but it did not work with either. As I stated, my Yorkie puppy has made herself right at home. I had intended to buy a crate for her, but when I saw this on my computer, I knew that was I wanted. Sincerely, Mary Doles

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome protection for your floor
This thing works great. It is really big, but stick a couple puppy pads on it and our brand new floor hasn't seen any of the dog's contributions. Easy to wash, holds the pads down if you need it and keeps urine off the floor.
If you would like to protect your floor from your puppy this is a great way to do it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very happy with this, or my puppy is :)
Very sturdy, good size for a very small dog or puppy, and at a good price. I checked beforehand the pet shops for an item like this and are 3 times the price and not even the same quality!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product slightly on the smaller size.
Need to fold the edges of the pee pad to save the pad.

Very practical but too small. I have to fold the pad for it to fit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic for apartment doggies.
Great product. Puppy is no longer dragging the pee pads around like security blanket. My pup has a tendency to pee with 2 feet on the tray and 2 off, which often made a mess. I now put the tray above a couple of bricks, elevating it off the ground. It now works like a charm!
