We wanted to take our little fur baby to an event at my husband's parent's house. They have a wrought iron fence in the back and our little Chihuahua mix can fit right through. This was exactly what we needed! It easily attaches to his collar for a secure fit. When we were going out for a quick trip I actually just put it around his neck and used the snap that is attached. It was very comfortable and he did not mind it a bit! I ended up leaving it on him for long stretches of time so that he could go in and out and I wouldn't have to worry.

    Works perfect! It has loops for the collar so it may be a good idea to buy a thin collar to use just for this so you don't have to keep taking your dogs regular collar off and on and re-threading it every time you let them out. The button clasp wears out so it is very important to also use the collar straps. I love that my pup can hang out outside now!

    The button that holds the collar in place easily unbuttons when my dog is trying to go in between the metal fencing. Once the button is undone he can slip through the bars, rendering the item useless. I'll try clipping the collar shut with safety pins to see if it helps. A better locking mechanism would have prevented this.

    Well this worked for about 30 minutes on my dog. He’s just too smart for us. He figured out that if he pushes hard enough the fabric ring will bend backwards and he can squeeze his way through the fence. I wish that I could send it back and get a refund but it’s covered in dog hair already. We used the straps to attach it to his collar and made sure his collar was tight enough (barely choking 😉) on him. He still made it through the fence. It’s a sad day because now our only option is a buzz collar that scares the begeezes out of him and sends him into to a full blown doggie anxiety attack. The ring IS comfortable though. He wore it and wasn’t too annoyed by it. He did roll around in an attempt to get it off but eventually accepted his fate. If you have a small dog that’s dumber than dirt then this might work for him/her. For us...it’s a no-go.

    This was our 2nd purchase of a puppy bumper and the first time I have been disappointed in it. We have a Morki that could never get out of our wrought iron fence before with it on who has now successfully figured out to slide half of his head through at a time and he is out running free. I don’t know if it would be helpful if it was a larger circle or what but what used to work wonders no longer works for us and we will be having to attempt to come up with a new plan to keep him in the backyard.
    I would give a bumper with a larger cushion part a try if there is one available that I am not seeing:

    Spent hours mending the fence with chicken wire and our little Yorkichon still would manage to flatten herself and squeeze through unimaginably tiny spots.We were at our wits end, frustrated that we have a fenced in yard but couldn't let her run around in it. We came across this product as a last resort before going to a leash or electric fence, and by god it works! She hasn't escaped once in the past month since we've had it, and she was getting out daily. It even keeps her from going under the deck and shed! She actually likes wearing it, when she wants to go outside she paitiently waits for us to put her bumper on.
