- Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2018Size: LargeColor: Candy Apple RedVerified PurchaseFolks,, I am a K9 trainer with 30+yrs of experience in training and raising large/XL/Giant breeds from everything such as SAR, Service, etc.. to simple house companions and have gone thru many different types (even second hand store old school stuff!) of bowls. I bought two of these bowls recently and must say, I'm impressed. These are the candy Apple red bowls in the 50oz size. For comparison, the puppy you see is "Caspian" (mine), he is a 12 week old purebred Newfoundland that is 41bs (at the time of this review 12/18). Not his best photo, but who has good photos at 3:20 in the morning? lol - Pics are REAL in use, photos of the product you get. You of course have to un-package the bowl(s), pull the tag off and wash it/them before use.
Since Newfoundlands are considered XL/Giant breeds, their "bling" needs to be tough so I had to keep in mind that 90% of you reading this have much smaller animals and those that do? you need to know this from a one of THOSE owners.. So I'm giving you my full evaluation on how tough, durable, and "sheik" they are :0}
1) I had read the previous reviews about the ring issue. I believe it may be a generic ring up to a certain size then another larger standard size ring is used. Mine came intact. It's easy to get off and washable for a thorough cleaning. I suggest using a cpl cotton swabs to do the job right. It does its job admirably in keeping the bowl from skidding on a hard wood floor and almost immovable on a carpeted floor.
2) The finish is nice and uniform. Not perfect but who really worries about the finish of the bottom of an $11 dog bowl. ONLY USE soft but scruffy type of sponges (dollar store is good enough) on the cleaning of the bowl itself. Don't allow the food to harden up like glue. While I have not had a problem with it doing so, it's best for simple up-keep, longevity, sterility, and your sanity!
3) They are light weight. These are not thick and heavy ("gauge" thickness) which is the only "con" I can really pick on. Newfs are gentle and huge. Some smaller breeds can be brutal on bowls which may make them (the bowls) subject to damage if bitten hard or treated harshly enough. Even then they will most likely take on only visual damage because the design won't really allow a dog's jaw to chew on them.
4) They have a wide base which keeps them from tipping as well as skidding. A lumbering puppy such as a Newf can make any bowl look silly and unstable but these hold up to the task extremely well.
Lastly?? get them singularly or a pair. While they might feel flimsy to some of us, they feel tough to others. So it's truly a matter of the pooch's "destructiveness" or lack thereof. I've had and have seen plastic bowls 2x thicker get destroyed, slip, tip, etc.. in short order. Under normal use, these are worth every penny and I'll be buying more again. I hope this has helped those of you out in making an informed decision on whether to get these or not.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2013Size: LargeColor: Bubble Gum PinkVerified PurchaseFirst off I want to say this bowl looks absolutely amazing! So so awesome! My pug loves the bowl and it stays put easily. The rubber ring issue people mention is true, it slips off easily if you fiddle with it, but it has never come off from her moving it around etc... Only when I wash it out.
The issue I had... The sizes are labeled very misleading and confusing. I went through 3 returns before I got one I just decided to stick with (still a little 2 large for my dog) I first ordered a 32oz bowl, what came was a little baby dog / cat bowl that barely held 6oz of water....So assuming I got the right bowl I sent it back and went for the 10cup bowl...HOLY CRAP! this thing was for a great dane and seemed labeled correctly lol So then we ended up with a 6.25cup bowl... still a little big but it works and isn't to ridiculous. I get the feeling after all is said and done that the 32oz bowl would have been the right size for my pug and I just happened to get sent a baby bowl or 8oz bowl by mistake.
Overall though amazing looking, easy to clean, super epic dog bowl! I will definitely be getting more of these in the future :)
- Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2012Size: MediumColor: Sapphire BlueVerified PurchaseI ordered 2 of these - one in red and one in blue. They are beautiful dog bowls that look great on my kitchen floor. We've had them for 6 months and both bowls have held up just fine. The metal still looks shiny and doesn't have any dings or scratches.
I ordered the 32 oz size which works fine for both our dogs. The 32 oz size bowl can hold a maximum of 4 cups of dog food at one time. 2 cups of food (I measured with a measuring cup!) reaches about an inch and a half below the rim. 4 cups mounds up over the rim but doesn't spill (except maybe a few pieces if you aren't careful). If you are planning in mixing in wet food and want to feed your dog more than 2 cups at a time of dry, I recommend getting the larger 64 oz size of this bowl (just do a search on Amazon as they are sold in four different sizes: 24 oz, 32 oz,64 oz and 96 oz).
The bowls are very sturdy and don't tip. They aren't heavy at all, but the way they are designed keeps them stable and connected to the floor. The rubber rings along the bottom keep them from slipping around on our tile floors. The only problem I've had with these bowls is that the rubber slips off from time to time but it's very easy to put back on. When it slips off it tends to settle along the bottom portion of the bowl unobtrusively so it has never been a temptation for our dogs to chew (and trust me - one of them is Mr. Destructo). I don't see the rubber on my bowls lasting for more than a few of years as it's already slightly cracking / drying out from being washed in the dishwasher. If you buy these bowls, I recommend slipping the rubber off when you wash them and that should keep that from occurring.
Another plus is that the bowls stack nicely. One nests into the other perfectly so when I want to put them up, they are out of the way.
I'm very happy with my purchase of these dog bowls and would buy them again, especially since they are some of the nicest looking dog bowls I've seen. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because of the rubber ring that could use some improvement.
UPDATE: I've had these bowls almost 3 years now. The rubber is long gone and thrown in the trash as it cracked and fell apart. The bowls, however, have held up great and are still as beautiful and shiny as ever. Because the rubber is gone, if my dog is too enthusiastic when he eats, the bowl may skid a little on our tile floors. Still, I stick by the 4 stars because these bowls are going to last FOREVER (minus the rubber, lol) and also because they are still so pretty. ;-) We've also never had ANY issues with tipping and we have a big lab mix (our other dog passed away and we are saving the other bowl maybe for a puppy someday).

Holds enough water that the 60 pounder hasn't emptied it when I get home from work, but the 15 pounder can still reach. It's not so big that I can't fill it on my own.
