After recarpeting a home office we got a very nice tempered glass carpet mat (from Amazon). It slipped on the pile carpet and we bought four of these to help anchor it on the carpet. They are nearly transparent and work very well. Here's a new market niche for the manufacturer. Amazon should suggest these when people look at glass carpet mats.
