The second book which I purchased because we are having a dog. WARNING: if you are are someone who will only have a puppy now -- as in it's going to be your first time -- you might be overwhelmed. I should know because I am.
Well, don't get me wrong - I love this book, but after reading it, I'm scared of what a big, big responsibility having a dog is. Let's start with the review:

    a) different types of dogs and its connection to how you are supposed to train them
    b) things you need to look for in a health/unhealthy dogs - very helpful
    c) shopping list. Oh my God -- I didn't know that dogs need so many things!
    d) Last but not the least, the thing that gave this book 5-stars for me, its richness in details. No kidding! From what you need to do for bathing to crate training, the author outlined the steps!

Everything a beginner owner needs to know is here. I repeat, this doesn't only discuss obedience training. You'll certainly find this book valuable!

We have just brought Bailey home as a new family member. He is an adorable Jack Russell terrier and is only 5 months old. I saw this book and decided to buy as I am dedicated to raise a smart dog in our house.

As I am reading this book, I really appreciate how this book revolves on the important stuff and not just chatting away with irrelevant segways. Each chapter is discussed in a way readers can relate and understand well, therefore each tips and tricks can easily be implemented.

The book contains the general but important ways to take care of your dog, from your pet's health, grooming, most essentials tools you'll need, and how to teach dogs few tricks like stay, fetch, sit, shake hands, etc.

If you are looking for a dog training book wherein you can juice out the most basic yet very effective things you can implement on your dog, this book is definitely for you. You can learn loads of things from here. Worth the time and money!

I really adore dogs since I was a kid, but never had the chance to cause my parents never allowed. And now finally living on my own, I am considering to buy a puppy. That is why this book caught my attention. This book really has great wealth of knowledge on training your dogs, especially if this is your first time, like me. I really enjoy the author going in great details on specific topics that is important for us to know, such as understanding your puppy's health and certain behaviours. Also the shopping list must have is an eye opener, as I never would have thought there were so many things to look for. Recommend this book to first time dog owners!

This book has provided me with all the basic necessary information I needed with my new dog. It showed me the importance of training as well as house breaking the dog. I found a lot of information about how to keep my dog healthy and how to tell that he is sick.

The book could use a clickable table of contents, but it is not a big deal.

Overall, I found more than I was looking for and I can only recommend the book!

So I just got my first dog two months ago and it's been such a learning experience that I'm willing to learn as much as I can to be a great owner. I knew I wanted to have my dog trained and this book has been so helpful in the process. I've already started using some on the suggestions from this book and my dog is actually responding! This book is amazing, for this price. My dog and I are very happy with it. Thanks!

This is a great book for anybody thinking of bringing a dog into their home or for dog owners. The book is divided into 11 easy to follow chapters beginning with a Training Overview. As a dog owner I especially liked Chapter 4: Dog Training Shopping List. Each chapter provides helpful hints and can even enlighten people who have been around dogs all their lives. Highly recommended!!

Ok so I plan on getting a puppy soon and I was glossing over kindle to see if I can find a good dog training guide. And Voila! I came across this one. This guide teaches in a very straightforward manner how to train your dog, what to look for in a healthy dog, and just general stuff such as grooming, health, and essential checklists. Cant wait to use what I learned on the new family member Im going to bring home.
