This was nice and cushy. But... If you fly your dog somewhere... You ever hear the term scared #%$@÷%$$? My poor poor poor Poochie - she was so traumatized. The cage was a disgusting mess and this very nice crate matt was COMPLETELY destroyed in one use. I might have been able to wash it and save it. But not in air cargo's women's room 4 weeks out if surgery. Then it turned out as my service dog she could walk on and fly in cabin. It was an expensive experiment but as advertised.

I have gone through more crate beds than I care to admit for my dogs. I wash them every couple weeks because I hate the 'dog' smell. This means anything I get has to be durable and able to stand up to the dryer. I had a set of these years ago, but kept trying to find something thicker, plusher, etc. However, none of the many options I have tried have been able to stand up to the washer/dryer. So I am back to another set of these great crate mats. Best of all, these are much cheaper than the set I bought at Home Goods a few years ago.

They aren't super thick, but very durable for repeated washes. The bolster is the main area the dogs need extra comfort, and that part stays nice and fluffy. The bottom portion does not get ruined, bunched up, or loose batting with washing. The quilting keeps all the stuffing in place.

I bought two of the dark grey 24" by 19". They arrived in only one day, packaged nicely, and looking perfect.

Though I really liked the look of this padding for my dogs kennel, and it fit inside of it perfectly well, We only kept it about one-ish month because my dog - a Beagle/Dachshund mix - kept digging at it. At first I thought it was normal because Doxie's are known to dig. However, I noticed that he never dug at the other bed that I'd bought him when I first adopted him at Dollar General for $5, so I wondered what was special about this particular cushion. After weeks of trying to make him stop - he would also pull it out of his kennel and dig, then lay in it - I noticed grey-ish black stuffing was starting to come out of the pad. After attempting to patch it up, and telling him again, to stop digging/biting at the cushion, once again the stuffing started to come out of it. That's when it occurred to me that there was something about the smell of the stuffing that he was attracted to, and it didn't matter what I did, he would find a way to "dig" it out.

So finally, I threw it away after only having it about one month and went back to Dollar General and purchased a kennel pad in the same brand as his other bed. Now, he doesn't dig as much, and we've had this kennel pad for going on three months, and it only cost $10, compared to the $20 I spent on this one.

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up on this particular pad because if your dog is a scent hound, s/he may be attracted to whatever material AKC use to stuff this pad with, and may very well end up digging holes into it.

Just washed and dried a dozen misc. well used crate pads for donation to a shelter. These American Kennel Club ones are a clear winner! The longhaired cat fur washes right off without making tenacious furballs and clumps, and they fluff back up and come out of the dryer looking and feeling like new.

This was the first time I had done a mixed load of different brands of pads for side by side comparison, and the results were quite dramatic! The pile of the fabric is slightly shorter/softer than some other brands and a bit less like sherpa. They come out of the dryer with no clumps and the seam valleys were clean, not hiding any old surprises.

As other reviewers have already stated, this is a thin pad. Granted, it is meant for a kennel and so it makes sense that it's thin so it can more easily be washed in the event of accidents. So far, I would say that it is pretty durable, but only time will tell. We have a Shepherd and a Beagle and not sure which one will be tougher on it. Me thinks the beagle will, but they have both already destroyed a large dog bed that we had bought only a few months ago. My only other gripe with it being so thin is that it moves around and gets bunched up so easily in their kennel when they are in there. One dog ends up laying on the hard bottom and the other is comfortable on the pad. It has been washed quite a few times though already and is taking it pretty well so, no complaints there.
***update*** I have since thrown this pad out. It did not last much longer after my review. Between washing and the dogs chewing on it while in the cage, it didn't stand a chance. Also, really didn't like the thinness of the pad- it moved around way too much and would get bunched up very easily. If the dog just goes in and lies down, ok, but if they move around a lot, etc forget it.

The pricing is perfect, much cheaper than at the pet stores for the exact same quality item. The color matches exactly. We use it in his dog crate with a pad in the middle for more comfort. I would not use this on its own as its to thin.

Mis perros amaron esta cama, la cual es mas como un tapete acolchado, pero no muy acolchado como una cama, sin embargo para ellos es la mejor, compre otra mucho más acolchada y prefieren esta, sin embargo me gusta mas para que se echen sobre la cama y duerman en el día o reposen un rato, para la noche si preferiría una cama mas acolchada. En cuanto calidad es excelente y hermosa a la vista, los materiales me encantaron, es una ecelente opción para ellos, en absoluto me arrepiento de comprarla, me da mucho gusto averla adquirido por que la aman, es su preferida y luce expectacular.
