My dog is a bull terrier mix with a very broad chest. She is about 35 lbs. and a bit chunky. A size Large from Amazon fit her well and was not too long. There is a hole for a leash. The fabric is a nice thick sweatshirt material. I bought two colors from Amazon as you see. I noted Amazon ships directly from Pet Life, the manufacturer. I bought the same one in Large from a big online pet supplier- (name rhymes with Louie)- and the chest section on a large from Amazon runs bigger by a half an inch. This half inch made the coat fit MUCH better in the chest, the ones from "Louie" were slightly tight. I compared them side by side before returning to Louie, so order here for a more generous cut . These would be easy to personalize if you wanted to iron on a decal. Great quality and she gets lots of "so cute" comments.

    We rescued a short haired mix (~50 pounds, built like a pittie overall, but not quite as large in the head and chest) at the beginning of winter; and he had an allergy problem we were trying to figure out with our veterinarian. We're not the "dress up dogs" type, but our little guy needed something to help him stay warm and protect his skin.

    Of all the dog sweaters out there, very few have sleeves, which we needed to protect behind his legs. Once I found this brand/size fit (Large), I ordered a few more as backups. It's not the most durable (especially for an itchy pup), but it's comfy and allows for dogs to move around freely - sleep, run, play, and be dogs! I recommend removing the drawstring for safety reasons; but other than that, it's ready to go and will last a couple months with regular washing and "ruff" wear.

    Our dog's allergies are no longer an issue, so we don't use his hoodie often; but I do like to keep one on hand for cold days to put on under his harness. I'm partial to the orange for visibility.

    Packaging and first impressions - The item is packaged well in a clear plastic bag with all tags and hanger attached.

    Overall Summary - The material was thick and soft, and initially I was surprised for the price of how heavy the jersey cotton was. I expected something much thinner, but was happy to find that it was high quality. The seams seemed to be stitched well and overall looked durable. I was happy with the purchase out of the box until I tried to put it on our doberman. We live in a cold winter climate and needed something warm for taking our dog on walks or outside for playtime. We bought this hoping it would fit our needs. The fit part was what went wrong. Before purchasing I checked the size chart carefully and even went and measured our dog to ensure that I ordered the right size. When we tried to put it on though it barely covered her body, and almost didn't fit over her head. These run VERY small. Had to send it back and find a different product to keep our dog warm.
