A year later, I wanted to update my review since I'm getting ready to purchase a second one of these! I have a pitbull and shepherd and they play with this EVERY day. My pit gnaws on it daily as well. I am only getting another one because they sometimes want their own toy too chew on and it will keep the fights to a minimum. It is showing signs of wear but my dogs are HARD on toys. Most rope toys are shredded all over my house within an hour. This one has lasted over a year (see photo).
This was well worth the money! It was far bigger and heavier than I imagined it to be. You don't want to accidentally kick or step on it when walking across a dark room! I have a shepherd mix and a pit bull and they destroy every toy I bring home (with some rare Kong toys being the exception). They play hard with this toy, pulling, dragging each other around, swinging each other back and forth. Not one thread has come out of it yet (2 weeks later). I brought a smaller, cheaper one and they had it destroyed within an hour.

The twisted, knotted cotton is a great design for my aggressive chewer puppy. When it first arrived I was afraid it was too big and heavy for my 20# miniature golden doodle. He is very determined and loves the challenge the size and weight offer him. It is hilarious to see him carry the rope toy as it is almost as big as him. He loves playing tug of war with it and I like that it is long enough to keep my hands out of harms way. He has been playing with it for a couple of days and has broken a few threads on the center knot. It is nothing to be concerned about, but that is an indication of how hard and often he chews. It is wonderful that he chews on the ends as that acts like dental floss. This is a big, heavy toy!

UPDATE: Adding pictures: My doodle is having a blast with the rope. If you look closely you can see that the threads are cut from the aggressive chewing. Still not a concern. This is providing lots of fun and entertainment. I will buy another one when this one wears out.
